Teodora Peeva
Violin & Viola Faculty
Teodora Peeva was born in Sofia, Bulgaria where she began her musical studies at the National Music High School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in viola performance from the University of California, Santa Cruz, as well a Master and Doctorate degrees from Louisiana State University. Her principal teachers were Roy Malan, Kevork Mardirossian, and Matthew Daline.
Ms. Peeva has participated in solo and chamber music master classes taught by Jesse Levine, Sheila Browne, Yuval Gotlibovich, James Dunham, and Gilad Karni. She has been a member of the Texas Festival Orchestra at the International Festival-Institute at Round Top for three summer seasons, as well as a participant at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Burlington, Vermont, and the Marrowstone Chamber Music Festival in Bellingham, Washington.
Teodora has been a member of the Baton Rouge Symphony, the Louisiana Sinfonietta, and a frequent sub with Acadiana Symphony in Lafayette . In addition to performing and teaching in the public school system, she also maintained a private violin and viola studio at the Grace Notes School of Music in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Peeva is new to the Asheville area and is teaching string orchestra classes at Buncombe County Schools. She is thrilled to continue her musical journey in beautiful Western North Carolina!
