Frances Duff
Cello Faculty

Frances Duff began her cello studies in junior high school and moved on to the prestigious Conservatoire de musique de Quebec in Montreal and then McGill University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music.
 

After working in Toronto with various symphony, ballet, and opera orchestras, she moved to Iowa and received a Master of Music degree from the University of Iowa.
 

Ms. Duff has done cello teacher training and Suzuki training with Tanya Carey, Rick Mooney, Margery Aber, and Dr. Suzuki as well as observing many of the finest violin and cello teachers in North America.

Currently living in Weaverville with her husband, Ms. Duff is assistant principal cello of the Asheville Symphony, principal cello in the Hendersonville Symphony, cellist in the Temple Trio, and a Suzuki cello teacher offering cello lessons at AFTA.
